The Evangelical Covenant Church seeks a visionary and strategic
professional with demonstrated success in managing and growing a
marketing and communication ministry in a complex, matrixed
environment. An ideal candidate will demonstrate a successful track
record in developing, implementing and advancing marketing and
communication strategies for appropriate markets. The Executive
Director of Marketing and Communications will maximize the
opportunities to communicate the core mission of the church through
digital and print channels.
The Executive Director of Marketing and Communication stewards
all marketing, communication and public relation matters of the
Evangelical Covenant Church. This senior leader will provide oversight
of all services and resources to ensure responsiveness and
sustainability of mission areas’ strategies. The Executive Director
will serve as the visionary, executive leader in the church’s
marketing, communication, and messaging efforts. This leader will help
shape the mission message to tell a great story and guide the
communication on the church’s priorities to internal and external
The Executive Director of Marketing and Communication
serves as a member of the Council of Administrators and an advisor to
the Covenant mission areas, projects and affiliates to optimize
collaboration and coordination for overall effectiveness and missional
outcomes in the area of communications. The Executive Director will
oversee and manage a professional team that will carry out a vision
for communication resources that advances the church’s mission and
core beliefs/values out to the public (membership and society at large).

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Work with President and other senior leaders of the
Evangelical CovenantChurch to align the church’s vision, mission to
comprehensive marketing andcommunication strategy.
* Serve as
lead contact for media relations and crisis communications. Function
as organizational media liaison to assist senior leadership in
communicating with external media.
* Shape, coordinate and
shepherd the messaging of all Covenant offices and mission areas with
a clear focus on the five missional priorities of the

integrating vision and strategy. Collaborate continually with subject
matter experts in each area to craft messages that satisfy the needs
of the church and of its various audiences and constituencies.
Lead and direct the marketing and communication strategies across all
media channels, including but not limited to print, audio, video,
internet, mobile, and social platforms.
* Spearhead the
Covenant’s efforts as it increases its online, digital and virtual
presence and moves toward more interactive communication platforms and
