Summary

In Covenant Kids Congo powered by World Vision (CKC), is a denominational-wide partnership with World Vision to engage the local church in ministry efforts being employed in Democratic Republic of Congo The Director of CKC provides leadership by sustaining and advancing the work of CKC overseeing day-to-day activity; cultivating a donor base for CKC; and engaging to meet ministry financial and programmatic objectives. .

Essential Functions
* Provide leadership and continue to advance CKC ministry strategies, efforts and operations.
* Collaborate with CKC Pastoral Advisory Committee to sustain and grow the work of CKC.
* Procure gifts directly or indirectly, that support and advance CKC efforts.
* Encourage Covenant Churches and individuals to support CKC with their prayers, participation and financial resources, this to include, but not be limited to:
o fostering written and electronic communication, as deem necessary and appropriate to advance donor care and marketing strategies;
o engage in public communication and presentations (teaching, preaching, workshops, mission moments, etc.); and
o promote CKC engagement pathways (Hope Sunday’s, TWV (Team World Vision) 6K Race, TWV endurance races, World Vision Matthew 25 Challenge Experiences, WV 30 Hour Famine, etc.).
* Plan Pastoral Vision trips to the northwest region of the Democratic Republic of Congo in a manner in which interest, enthusiasm, and participation for the ministry of CKC grows among pastoral community increases.
* Facilitate interpersonal relationship with internal and external partners, to include but not limited to: World Vision (U.S., Congo, ADP), Serve Globally Personnel, 8303 Ministry Areas, Conference Leadership & Staff, and Ministry Partners in CEUM.
* Lead and monitor developments of the Area Development Plan (ADP) called Ledia for the primary purpose of informing Covenant Churches and individuals of this ministry’s outcomes and impact. This to include:
o Visit Congo annually or bi-annually;
o Supervise the budgets for Ledia and WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene); and
o Track progress of corollary programs (such as WASH for the Karawa Hospital).
* Oversee the development of a marketing and communication plan. Ensure active and
corresponding participation at CovEvents.
* Prepare reports for all corresponding stakeholder groups and donors, as deem appropriate.
* In partnership with Director of Global Mission Advancement adhere to ECC data management protocols to ensure actions/engagements with constituency are properly recorded and archived.
* Manage a portfolio of 100 primary prospects with a focus on maintaining and deepening major donor support for Covenant mission and ministry.
* Other duties as assigned by the Executive Minister of Serve Globally.

Experience and Skills:

Education and Experience

Required: A bachelor’s degree or experiential equivalent in Advancement, Theology, Business, Nonprofit Administration or comparable field experience. A deep knowledge of and ability to speak about Covenant mission and ministry that inspires giving. Proven fundraising experience with experience in procurement and advancement environment. Willingness to travel to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Preferred: Experience in Democratic Republic of Congo. Fluent in French. Hold Covenant Credentials.

* Mastery of Microsoft and Windows applications.
* Ability to preach and teach to small and large audiences.
* Seasoned familiarity with fundraising, stewardship and generosity.
* Exceptional communicator to various constituents including individual donors, local church leaders and denominational leaders.
* Excels in attention to detail with high level of accuracy in the preparation of documents, reports, and correspondence.
* Comfortable with working independently/remotely to accomplish tasks.
* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Works well under pressure and can accomplish multiple tasks, with conflicting priorities and timelines.
* Ability to respond to and deal with a range of ad hoc queries/requests.
* Ability to operate with discretion and confidentiality at all times.
* Maintains flexibility in approach and adjusts actions when appropriate.
* Excellent management and people skills to embrace diversity of schedules, backgrounds, formats, and contexts
* Creatively formulate reports, communication and marketing material for audiences.

Environment Conditions
Able to work well in professional office setting, but occasionally works in remote locales. Travel frequently, both domestically and internationally. Must be versatile and able to work for prolong segments sitting or standing. Must engage frequently with office tools and equipment, such as: computer, copier, phone, web-conferencing equipment, cell communication, printers, etc. Must be able to occasionally lift or move items, less than 40lbs.
