Job Description:

Summary

The Director of Covenant World Relief is responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of Covenant World Relief. This Director sets the direction and fulfills ECC’s commitment to relief and community transformation. Integral to this role is the cultivation and nurturing of partnerships around the world.

Essential Functions

* Provide leadership to the theological and practical direction of CWR. Ensure efforts and activities are accountable to all constituents.
* With the support of SG’s regional coordinators, develop and maintain partnerships with churches and organizations in the five SG regions.
* In collaboration with CWR partners and personnel from mission areas, formulate a comprehensive response to disasters around the world.
o Collaborate with Advancement team, on fundraising strategies and donor management.
o Oversee the development of marketing, communication and digital strategies that lead to engagement opportunities.
o Partner with Love Mercy and Do Justice mission area during domestic disaster response.
* Guide CWR’s advisory committee through goals and objectives.
o Plan and prepare for engagements.
o Engage and respond to grant applications, reports and oversight of projects.
* Interface and communicate with constituents and partners, both domestically and internationally.
o Manage partnership development.
o Drive a constituent-oriented strategy with effective and scalable solutions that connect constituents to generate awareness, participation and to mobilize active engagement.
o Preach, teach and coach pastors and church leaders on CWR’s vision and objectives.
* In collaboration with the Director of Global Mission Advancement, cultivate a financial support base.
* Ensure strategies and resources implementation and utilization fit within budget allocations: plan, monitor and calibrate financial resources.
* Contribute to SG’s shared activities and projects, as deemed appropriate.
* Other duties as assigned by the Executive Minister of Serve Globally.

Experience and Skills:

Education and Experience

Required: A master’s degree or experiential equivalent in international development or related field. Five (5) years of experience in community development related ministries and intercultural experience. Valid driver’s license. Proficiency in Microsoft and Windows applications, databases development and management, and web technologies. Type a minimum of 55 words per minute.

Preferred: Bi-lingual (Spanish or French) and engagement in a multi-cultural context. Theological training. Personal engagement with the ECC (minimum of 3 years). Has public speaking abilities.

Environment Conditions

Able to work well in professional office setting, but occasionally works in remote locales. Extensive domestic and some international travel and some evening/weekend engagements. Must be versatile and able to work for prolong segments sitting, walking or standing. Must engage frequently with office tools and equipment, such as: computer, copier, phone, web-conferencing equipment, cell communication, printers, etc. Must be able to occasionally lift or move items, less than 35lbs.
